[ AND SHE'S OFF. Soon enough, a little girl in a red scarf is jogging over towards Green, a plastic shopping bag in one hand and a brown bag full of fresh green apples held close to her chest. ]
[ At least he was kind enough to be at the park relevant to her area? No, that was just a coincidence. When he sees her, Green's amused - really, she's had him amused since they were talking. ]
Yo! Noisy!
[ There's a grin on his face, amplified by his folded arms, and after shouting over to her he gives a whistle - but it's not for her. Ayano, did you miss a big bird flying in the sky before? That's fine, it's a quick bird; not even his opponents get to see much of him either.
But the dust of the dirt lifts up at the beat of wings behind Green, the pokémon landing smoothly on top of the monkey bars.
Yep, just a cool entrance for a ~cool bird~ (note: all entrances by Pidgeot are cool!!) ]
[ That totally catches her off guard! When she stops in front of Green, her head turns towards the bird (so majestic...!!) perched on top of the monkey bars. ]
[ Have you ever seen anything be as majestic on monkey bars? No, didn't think so. ]
Pidgeot. Impressed, eh? I knew you would. Still think he's just a pet now?
[ That makes Pidgeot tilt his head to Green, making a low and short sound, and Green shakes his head to him. ] Don't worry, she doesn't know any better.
[ Green looks at Pidgeot again, shrugging his shoulders. ] Humour her.
[ Pidgeot isn't really bothered by the thought of being hand fed by a stranger (Green appears to think she's fine enough after all), and is more concerned about hitting her hand. But he lowers his head and, once she's close enough for him to get to the food, he lightly and carefully scrapes the food from her with his beak. It takes just two times doing that for all but specks of the seed to be gone. He's a big bird, okay.
And after he looks at Ayano, expectedly, wondering if she'll get out more. ]
[ The moment Pidgeot looks like he's okay with eating the food from her hand, Ayano beams and looks over to Green excitedly - like she can't contain her own joy at seeing something like this magical actually happen in front of her eyes - and quickly rummages around in the bags again. There'su even more food in the palm of her hand now. ]
This is so cool! He's so well-behaved, too... Oh, I bet my little brother would love this, too. [ Her smile softens at the mention of her brother. Kousuke would probably have so much fun with this, if he was here. ]
It looks like he grew up to be a really valuable friend to you - that's great, Green-san!
[ Yesss good, feed his big belly. Meanwhile, Green isn't one to ever be opposed to compliments given to him. Though the kind she gives does make his move from folded arms to hands on his hips. FRIENDSHIP TALK. ]
Of course! I trained him since he was a pidgey, and I give my pokémon the best training. [ But hey, he can come closer to the big fat bird and reach up to pat the side of his wing. ]
I bet you've got a lot of questions, right? I'm in a good mood today, so I'll even answer them if you've got them.
[ She's clearly impressed with Green's apparent expertise in raising... Pokemon?? ]
I have lots! First of all, what are Pokemon? And are they like regular pets? What's this about training, can they do tricks? [ That's the important part here! ] Do you have any others besides Pidgeot?
You couldn't ask one at a time? [ Okay okay, what was all of that? ]
Okay, as far as I know they're like the animals you see here, except they've got more power than your cats and dogs. There's different kinds and I'm not going to list them out for you, so use that imagination of yours. [ Even though it's dangerous. ] And yeah, people can keep them as pets -- but for trainers like me, they're more than that.
And if you think any of my guys are going to do tricks for you, you've got another thing coming. [ No amazing Green Team tricks for you, Ayano. ] But there's other trainers here, so find them and ask. Maybe one of them knows how to juggle -- try a girl called Mei.
Ehh, so you're a trainer who doesn't train them to do tricks? What do they usually do?
[ She's listening really intently to what he's saying - Green might not be showing her anything spectacular or anything, but what he's explaining is really interesting! ]
Hm, I don't think I've met her before. I'm really interested in knowing about your Pokemon, so this is really neat, Green-san, so I'm sure I'll bump into her at some point.
[ She holds out another handful of bird feed towards Pidgeot. ] Pidgeot's really cute. [ Can you tell she's amazed?? ]
We battle with 'em - put them against each other and show their skills as pokémon and ours as trainers. [ So you could call them tricks, maybe?? ]
There's a few trainers here, so have fun with that. [ And at that last part, he scoffs. ] And he's got a big enough head and stomach without your help, you know.
[ Pidgeot makes an indignant noise at that, flapping his wings before lowering to continue pecking at the food. Whatever you. ] Sure, you feed your gut. See how well you fly later.
Battles? That sounds fun, and it's a combination of both you and your Pokemon's skills, right?
[ She smiles, giggling as Pidgeot finishes the last of the feed in her hand and she moves to pet the top of his head. Who's a good big bird, who's a good big biiiiird ]
I'm sure with your training, he could be in tip-top shape after a few handfuls of feed! You look like you know what you're doing when it comes to training him.
Right. You got it. [ You know what, Pidgeot likes you. He'll even coo a little quietly for you and give you permission to bug his trainer more. If he lets you. Also, said trainer is rolling his eyes at his Pidgeot. ]
I've been doing it for years, so of course I do. But you know, you can't really see what it's like with us standing around and gabbing about it. [ Weeelll. ] I owe some trainers a match, so if I remember, I'll invite you to watch.
[ It's not like it's any thanks for bringing all that food for his bird or anything! ]
Thank you so much, Green-san! I'd love to see what a battle is like. [ The fact that he'll invite her to one of these battles one day makes her so happy.
Despite being a little... rough around the edges, Green is really kind! ]
As I thought, you're really nice. [ And just so they don't go to waste, she hands him an apple from the grocery bag she carried in. ]
[ He'll take it, throwing it between his hands a bit. ]
Sure I am. I'm nicer than I need to be. And you- [ he points a finger at her with the hand that holds the apple ] -you're beyond that. If you're not careful, you're going to get people using you.
And whatever you nice types think, letting people get away with that doesn't do anyone any favours. Especially not you.
